Caravan Style is On The Move!
Posted on June 14, 2019
Another sunny day … It’s now June and we’re six months in, can you believe? It’s been quite a year already at this end, there’s a lot of exciting change ahead and I’m so happy to be sharing the news that we’re moving house!
The changes ahead are as much a surprise to me as to anyone else. I’d have happily carried on living in our little London house “forever”, so it had to be something very very different to pull me away. And it is. We’re off to a Victorian seaside bungalow later this year (with a few stops in between).

Lee Krasner, Living Colour
Posted on October 31, 2018
The Barbican will be celebrating the work and life of Lee Krasner in their Art Gallery next year. I relish any chance I get to visit that amazing Brutalist estate – to immerse myself in some Abstract Expressionism while I’m there will be AMAZING!
Details of the upcoming exhibition (30th May – 1st Sept) appeared in my inbox alongside this image of Krasner’s “Icarus”. This fascinating painting inspired me to dive into my silk scarf collection and plan out a few more drapes for the shop. Isn’t it great when art inspires creativity just like that. I wonder if Lee ever had any idea how many billions of people her work has and will continue to touch in this way.

I am obsessed with vintage florals. I love old floral everything – paintings, fabrics, postcards, silk scarves, ceramics. The lot! I’m also a bit of a minimalist, which doesn’t always sit happily with this particular obsession, but I make space for my beloved collection of vintage floral postcards.
I find most of my cards in French flea markets, picking up a few each time I have the pleasure of a weekend in Paris, which is usually tagged on to a visit to the biannual trade show, “Maison et Objet”.

Hit The Road
Posted on July 19, 2018
Ooh, I do love a dwelling! Camper van, caravan, tree-house, cabin, boat… You name it, I can imagine myself in it. Put it on wheels and I’m in my element.
Recently browsing in my local bookshop, I chanced upon a beautiful book, “Hit The Road: Vans, Nomads and Roadside Adventures”. What a dream title.

Midsummer & Mokkasin
Posted on June 27, 2018
The end of June is usually Glastonbury Festival time for me. I’ve enjoyed this unique gathering since my late teens and I met my husband there – it’s truly a family affair! I find the summer solstice a very special time of year for many reasons.
The festival site is currently having a fallow year and I’ve been lucky enough to get the chance to celebrate Midsummer in Stockholm, another wonderful experience. The trip has reminded me of the work of a favourite Swedish interior stylist, Sofia Jansonn of By Mokkasin.

Setting Plaster
Posted on April 24, 2018
We had a wall plastered and it’s been setting for some time now. I’m loath to paint over it as the natural textures and tones look just lovely as they are. If it wasn’t for the fact I’m smitten with a certain off-white which covers every inch of our home and studio (and covered my last two shops… yes, addicted!), I think I’d go for Farrow & Ball’s “Setting Plaster”.

I’ve recently been thinking about kitchens. I love it when there’s a good dose of pretty in practical and this pinky terrazzo heaven by Heju Studio ticks all my boxes…

Wabi Sabi
Posted on February 28, 2018
Creating a warm atmosphere and living with beautiful pieces is the ultimate goal, isn’t it? Decorating with intention has always been of interest to me. In the current wave of paring down the general clutter while investing in quality, I find myself revisiting Axel Vervoordt’s iconic interior style and considering that all-important wabi-sabi.
