Kitchen Dreams

I’ve recently been thinking about kitchens. I love it when there’s a good dose of pretty in practical and this pinky terrazzo heaven by Heju Studio ticks all my boxes…

Wabi Sabi
Posted on February 28, 2018
Creating a warm atmosphere and living with beautiful pieces is the ultimate goal, isn’t it? Decorating with intention has always been of interest to me. In the current wave of paring down the general clutter while investing in quality, I find myself revisiting Axel Vervoordt’s iconic interior style and considering that all-important wabi-sabi.

Golden Day
Posted on February 1, 2018
It’s Golden Day today, a much anticipated yearly event when the children can choose which creative activities they’d like to enjoy, for a more relaxed, fun school day.
As I dropped an excited Bunty off this morning she said “You can have Golden Day today too, mummy”. After initially dismissing the idea, I thought again and decided I can have a Golden Day! Enabled by the internet, the consumer can learn, buy, and curate. And then show off. The consumer is now the art-director, the ‘prosumer’. The new design professionals, the new opinion-leaders.

A New Year

… and a re-issue of Flea Market Style is in the pipeline. How exciting! I really enjoyed visiting each and every one of the special homes featured in my books and they continue to inspire me. My home’s in there too and here’s a corner, adorned with my own market finds, photographed by my dear friend and flea partner-in-crime, Debi Treloar.
