I’ve just returned from a visit to my special friend Debi Treloar. This is one of my favourite pics that Debi took (on her iPhone, with natural light of course) at her local florist Scarlet & Violet. As ever, Debi is an inspiration – the combination of her eye and Vic’s styling is just amazing. Keep an eye on Debi’s blog ‘Double Exposure’ for similar treats!

    Black Swans

    Posted on September 26, 2012

A couple of sneak peeks for you in this post – the first is the gorgeous black ceramic swan that has been added to our A/W collection. I’ve always been a fan of the original ceramic swans so when Trish contacted me with this new design, handmade in Stoke-on-Trent, I just had to have him!

Pssst… our lovely black swan has siblings in other colours too….

and I just couldn’t resist posting another black swan in the form of Graham, our trusty builder, who is currently installing a partition wall in the new shop. Don’t make it too dusty in there Graham!

Black ceramic swans, £45, available online later this year. If you can’t wait that long then send an email to info@caravanstyle.com and we’ll sort you out asap!

    LDF

    Posted on September 18, 2012

Shoreditch is buzzing with LDF madness.

Now that I’m scheduled to ‘baby-time’ I won’t be visiting the plethora of local previews this eve but I did get a chance to pop into a few places earlier today….

SCP‘s Design Department Store is looking as promising as ever, showcasing lovely new products and ranges that include more quirky creatures and accessories from one of our favourite designers, knit-ware extraordinaire Donna Wilson (circus arm-warmers and a badger cushion for me, please!); the Luna and Curious trio were sporting coordinating outfits (coordinating with each other and, wait for it, …. the store. Totally unplanned, or so they said) – they’re previewing the Drawing Room this eve; and the Crystal Bulb pop-up shop at Lee Broom is totally adorable – a sawdust-covered floor and raw wood fittings showcase hundreds of cut glass lamps (I now want to festoon my ceiling with an abundance of those lovely sparkly things – see last post for more details of this yummy product, coming to Caravan sooooooon!).

Here’s to a fab festival once again!

For further Eastern delights, along with the general festival lowdown, visit the official LDF website here and follow the Icon design trail here.

There’s a lot going on behind the scenes at Caravan Style HQ right now! It’s buying time… the new website is underway… I’ve been editing and re-editing our lovely product range… and final (final?!) building work will commence in the new shop this month.

Where to start…? I think I just have to give you a peek into the new Caravan lighting collection – the most amazing crystal glass bulbs from British designer Lee Broom. Produced in collaboration with Cumbria Crystal, these hand blown cut lead crystal pendants are just the most perfect mix of elegance and ornament with a touch of the industrial. Quite our style!

Another plus point – Lee’s studio is only a few minutes up the road from us in Shoreditch and it’s such a pleasure to shop local.

Crystal bulb, £189 (includes pendant fitting, ceiling rose and flex).
Keep an eye out for these on the new website and in the meantime please click here to enquire by email.
